The first days

Yep, technically, i’ve started work.

Having settled into my cosy Camden flat (minus hot water, but do not get me started..), i spent the previous week rushing around being odd bits and bobs that i needed, keeping busy and waiting for the Monday to arrive. It arrived, and now its Friday (yes I know but im TIRED, people!). The last week has gone both slowly and quickly.. each day I woke up at 6.30am or thereabouts, catching around 6 to 5 hours sleep every night. I learnt a lot of stuff, met a lot of people and mentally, it was exhausting. It went like a thunderbolt with respect that, its all really a blur. Just a week of commuting, early mornings and dark skies, inductions, courses and admin. And a lot of introductions and ice-breaking – don’t we all love that? Felt like university all over again.. only without the beloved NUS card. Am still bitter about that.

So yes, for the inquisitive members of my family, i’m doing great, the best thing about it is all the other guys on my programme are incredibly nice and friendly. There will be a good bunch down where I will be working, so i’m reassured that my menial job will have some perks to it. I’ll be training for another 2 weeks.. excel, project management, what have you. Like my brother said, when you work, you learn to enjoy the weekends which is what im planning to do, albeit at the sacrifice of wads of cash. (Payday on Monday, baby!)

Chilling out tonight and am gonna hit the shops tomorrow. There’s so much to do in London, but when you’re not too familiar with the place, you feel like theres nothing to do cept the normal activities.. will endeavour to join a gym, and play badminton regularly. I didn’t bring my racket for nothing!
