A Young Naive Student in London

And so, after numbing my ass in the car for 3 and a half hours and 200miles later, I arrive at Kee and Ellen’s at approximately 3am Thursday morning. The car journey wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated, eased by constant looping of the one english CD in the car stereo system and ridiculous talk with father. (“America has a currency surplus, thats why they don’t hav much economic growth”..yes i know)
Went to sleep around 4.30am, wasn’t actually that tired (i had only got up at 1pm) but thought if i didnt sleep now then pretty soon it would get light outside, the birds would start tweeting and my body would be utterly confused as to when it should actually be resting.
Has gone quite well so far, haven’t done too much today but Ellen introduced me to the immediate vicinity, and the amazing creation that is the 24hr Sainsburys thats just 2 minutes away. Unpacked my stuff, am officially now a Londoner, though give me a few months of Capital life and you might find me curled up in the foetal position rocking backwards and forwards in the corner of my room mumbling the words to “Careless Whisper” over and over again..
Naive Things to do:
Visit all the free museums, and since I’ll be earning I’ll even visit the ones which charge wooo!
Go see a west end show and pretend to be cultured
Eat out eat out eat out
Stalk any minor celebrity I see (I do not count any reality tv contestant a celebrity)
Splurge and spend my cash like a wasteful fool

I think I might have to work, as well.

  1. Good to see you in London at last and welcome to the rat race. Good luck in the new job and don’t burn yourself out. By the way, those coronary burgers do not look good as their name implies – stay away !
